He is a partner at Rush, Hannula, Harkins & Kyler, L.L.P., where he has worked his entire legal career. In addition to his active case load, John serves as arbitrator for mandatory arbitration cases and uninsured/underinsured motorist cases, and as a settlement conference mediator.

John was born and raised in the Puget Sound region and has lived in Pierce County since 1991. He is an aggressive and professional trial lawyer who enjoys working with his clients to achieve a fair and just resolution of their cases. "Most of my clients haven't been involved in an insurance claim or a lawsuit before and need my help understanding the process," he says. "I fully explain what to expect emotionally, time-wise and financially, and I'm always happy to answer all of my client's questions as the case progresses."

John has lectured on civil litigation issues to his peers. In 2005 he was elected to the board of trustees for the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association for a two year period; in 2007 he was elected secretary/treasurer. He has also chaired the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association's Judicial Qualifications Committee.

John lives in Tacoma with his wife, Cheryl, and their son, Luke.
